Up Close and Personal with Noble Igwe. He recently delved into the world of travel and tourism with his Maltina sponsored 1000 Smiles Campaign – an adventurous road trip across Nigerian cities to capture happy moments and smiles on people’s faces.
My most important question to him: how did you ink this deal? Did Maltina come to you?
Noble: Of course not! I went to them. I came up with the idea, pitched it to them and they bought into it. So this didn’t come on a platter of gold. But guess what? I pitch every day and I get rejected. Forget the fact that I’m famous. There are so many brands I knock on their door audemars piguet imitacion with ideas that never see the light of the day. Does that bother me? Yes and No.
I just never sit on my butt waiting for things to happen. I reinvent myself daily. I hit the streets daily with new ideas – combing through my network – and pitching to brands how my social media influence can generate measurable ROI for them.
I also asked Noble: You’re not a travel and tourism professional. You’re a media, entertainment and fashion entrepreneur. Don’t you feel the folks in this industry will consider you as an outsider trying to bite into what you don’t really know about?
Noble: Lol gosh who cares 🤷🏾♂️ brands ain’t sentimental with who to work with. Why are the travel people not coming up with such ideas? Sorry I have no apologies. The sky is big enough for everyone to fly without colliding. If you want it, go for it. If a supposed ‘outsider’ comes to get it, then deal with it. Never dismiss someone’s work on the altar of being an ‘outsider’.
