The Afro Tourism team, led by its new Chief Executive Toni Ukachukwu, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Mr. Folorunsho Folarin-Coker. The visit culminated in a media partnership with the corporation to jointly promote the recently launched #TourNigeria brand campaign of the agency. Also present at the parley was Afro Tourism’s Head of Government and Corporate Relations, Sam Adeleke and the CEO of Avantgarde Tours, Mr. Efetobo Awhana.
At the meeting, the Afro Tourism team (a travel media and consulting company based in Lagos and Washington D.C), shared its vision with the DG regarding its commitment to promoting untapped African destinations to domestic and inbound travellers. For the past 4 years, Afro Tourism has being crisscrossing the continent, unveiling, documenting and promoting the untapped treasures of the continent.
Speaking on the next edition of its flagship publication, S.E.E. Africa, Afro Tourism’s CEO stated that since Nigeria will be the magazine’s next cover feature, and the media firm intends to latch on to the #TourNigeria campaign to further amplify the drive towards promoting Nigeria to Nigerians.
The DG was pleased at the visit and expressed his willingness to work with Afro Tourism and all other stakeholders in promoting the #TourNigeria campaign. He thereafter directed his PA, Mr. Yomi Abudu, to work with Afro Tourism in implementing the media partnership.
After the meeting, the Afro Tourism team proceeded to the office of the FTAN President (Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria), Alhaji Rabo Kareem Saleh. The newly elected president was glad to host the visiting team and used the opportunity to share his vision with them.
The team also met with the Executive Secretary of FTAN, Mr Precious Okonji, at the association’s secretariat in Abuja.
